**I first completed this book around March 2007 if i'm not mistaken.

Stolen voices is a very unique fiction book, eventhought it was targeting kids from age 8 to 16 as readers but still very attractive for adults to read. With her simple words style Ellen stole many haert by her imagination about walled city.

Noveskina is a walled city ruled by a man called The Musker. The special thing about Noveskin is it folks. all of them have specific talent like listener that can hear all talking even the hidden one. but unfortunely all of Noveskinian will be musked when they reach age of 15 to control their talent so them won't misusing it. There is where the delemma started when Miri found out she has no talent.

In the walled city the folks are very obey to city custom, law and regulation. As the most civilized city after the real world destroyed the ruler of walled city decided to dividing the community into two, 1st class and 2nd class citizen. The talented folk will go to the 1st class and those without talent wil be masked as 2nd class citizen. The poorest thing is as 2nd class citizen Miri will be a servant for the whole life.

Miri can't accept her fate, thru a mysterious servant of The Masker she manage to run from the Walled City.

For the first time in her life she meet the real world. Place that always told as the most dangerous. But she found it very beautiful and peaceful compared to The Walled City. After walk very far Miri saw a very beautiful and colorful rainbow above her. She decided to followed the raibow and ended with a village.

Over there Miri discovered world without musk. Everyone is free to show off their talent and using it for the good of society and own self. She also learn about Court, Jury system and democracy. The more important is she found her talent. The greatest talent that belong to gifted person only. A talent that won't and will never devolep if she stay in Walled City.

Finally with support from real world community, Miri decided to attack the Walled city to save and free her family and community.
